Called To Relationship
Reviewed by Bethany Criswell

Mount Ararat Baptist Church releases its long awaited debut CD project, Called To Relationship. The entire CD is laced with artistic musical composition, gifted lead singers and a stellar performance by the mass choir. After listening to the first upbeat hit Just Praise, featuring powerhouse Anita Levels, you will want to listen to the entire CD. Next is the Pastoral Interludes which is woven throughout the CD. These spiritual nuggets give us food for thought and are great segue ways to the next song. The musical composition on Praise Ye The Lord is my personal favorite, musically. This anthem of praise, quite similar to an orchestra, showcases the musicians’ true talent. Created to Praise is a jazzy love ballad with an R&B twist, featuring songstress Leslie Middleton.

Anthony “Pops” Mitchell takes you back withYou Can Count On It. This song will help lift your troubled spirit and will remind you that God is always there for you no matter what you’re going through. My favorite dance track is the CD titled track, Called To Relationship. James Ziegler blends together a perfect mix of soul added to a little funk. This song will make you want to dance and shout.

Ms. Valetta O’ Kelly and Trini Massie deliverstrong with There’s No Way I Can Live Without The Lord. These two singers fused together create a bluesy, down home church feel. Rounding out the CD is More Than Conquerors, a sultry Jamaican groove spiced with the voice of Curtis Lewis, Jr. Look out for the bonus treat at the end when the guest singers add their own flavor.
