Stephanie is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 2007, Stephanie earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication with a concentration in Web Design & Analysis, and a minor in Psychology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. In October 2007, she relocated to Pittsburgh, Pa to focus on her graduate studies. While a graduate student, Stephanie served as a Graduate Assistant Intern for the Communications Ministry at Mt. Ararat under the former Dir. of Communications, Lauren Lake. Stephanie went on to receive her Master of Science in Professional and Technical Communication from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, which she completed in May 2009.
In August 2009, she joined the church staff as Director of Communications. In this position, she serves as the coordinator for various types of internal and external communication for Mount Ararat Baptist Church. She directs the Communications Ministry which is responsible for all media and promotion, including print, the web, displays, public relations, writing, editing, photography, graphic design, etc. The Communications Ministry reflects and amplifies the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the central mission of the church that is set by Pastor Curtis.
Stephanie’s goal is to develop and implement marketing and communication strategies that help to brand Mount Ararat as “The Ministry that Cares” throughout the community and abroad. She serves as Editor in Chief of The Mount, a quarterly publication that is distributed to the congregation and the community throughout the city of Pittsburgh, and oversees the Marketing Team and the E-Ministry.
Stephanie recognizes the importance of service and is an active member and supporter of local non-profit organizations including the Pittsburgh Urban Magnet Project, Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council, Pittsburgh Black Media Federation, SponsorChange.org, the National Society of Black Engineers Alumni Extension Chapter and PA eMentoring.
